Soteriology has an order that order is clearly explained in the word of God.
1. God draws, man cannot initiate his own salvation. In this drawing process God illuminates man to his word.
Man is by nature a sinner (A) Man with this sin nature man is considered dead spiritually (B) He cannot understand the things of the Lord (C) Because of this God must first draw him (D)
(A) Eph 2:3
Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of
our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by
nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
(B) Eph 2:1
And you were dead in your trespasses and
sins,
(C) 1 Co 2:14
But a natural man does not accept the things of the
Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them,
because they are spiritually appraised.
(D) Jn 6:44
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
2. Man responds this is also known as faith, belief, trust, or hope.
Man
then hears the word of God and responds in faith. (A) This response is
not a work (B) But it's necessary for
regeneration (C)
(A) Ro 10:17-18
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the
word of Christ. But I say, surely they have never heard,
have they? Indeed they have; “Their voice has gone out
into all the earth, And their words to the ends of the
world.”
(B) Ro 4:5
But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him
who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
(C) Jn 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the
right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His
name,
2. Regeneration occurs a man is born again and considered justified before God.
3. Regeneration occurs a man is born again and considered justified before God.
Jn 1:13
who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the
flesh nor of the will of man, but of God
Jn 5:24
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
Jn 8:12
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
Jn 10:9-10“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
Jn 3:3-17Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus
said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second
time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesus
answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus
said to Him, “How can these things be?” Jesus answered
and said to him, “Are you
the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things? “Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony. “If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? “No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
